Are you a momma heartbroken over your child's rejection of God?

The Ruby Tent was born out of my journey back to faith. I felt God leading me to share my story of redemption from homosexuality. My mom and I faced many struggles during my time of rebellion, but through God’s grace, we learned to heal and overcome our flesh to love each other. This powerful transformation led me back to God, and now we’re using our story to support other mothers whose children have turned away from their childhood faith.

Our signature course, “Love God’s Way,” is designed to bring healing and hope to heartbroken mothers by demonstrating practical ways God calls us to love those who disagree with us, even if they are our adult children. Leading this course live was such a full circle moment for us, as we poured into other moms the lessons we learned, hoping they might avoid the depth of heartache we experienced.

Join us in this course, and experience that hope for yourself!

Have you recently trusted Jesus as your Lord and Savior?

We would love to know!

We also have a small gift for you.

Wondering what steps to take next?

Does your faith need new life?

Have you accepted Jesus as your Savior, but aren’t sure what comes next? Should you start going to church, reading your Bible, praying? How do you even do any of that?

Sister - I got you!

Let me show you the first steps you need to take as you begin your walk with Jesus. Allow me the honor of walking with you and pouring into you as you discover the aspects of faith that will build a solid foundation. Jesus said in Matthew 7:24-27 (NIV), “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Following Jesus is the way to build your life and your faith on that solid foundation. The foundation that will help you weather all of life’s storms.

If you want that strong foundation, then you need this Bible study! Join me for this 4-week FREE course on how to build your life on that foundation by following Jesus.

Demystifying What to do After you Accept Jesus as Your Savior

Have you recently accepted Jesus as your Savior, but aren’t sure what to do next? Did you accept Jesus many years ago, and have found your faith growing stale? Do you feel in your heart that there must be more to this walk with Jesus than just going to church on Easter and Christmas and other odd Sundays when you aren’t driving kids to soccer games or arguing with your husband?

Sister, I’ve been there. #beentheredonethat

Demystifying what to do after you accept Jesus as your savior

I accepted Jesus as a child, but then found that as I grew older, I hadn’t built a foundation of following Jesus in my daily life that would sustain me through the normal trials and challenges of everyday life. Ultimately, I neglected the daily practices that are fundamental to building the foundation, and moved so far away from God, I really could no longer accurately call myself a Christian.

Do you know what I mean?

I was a christian, but I wasn’t a Christian. #notfollowingJesus

“Christian” was my theological standpoint, but not my daily practice.

I wasn’t anywhere close to being that precious older lady in the movie War Room, praying with power and authority and oozing the fruit of the Spirit. I wasn’t even close to being like your average church-goer!

I was living a life full of sin, even though I was still trying to be a “good person.”

How far does being a “good person” get you? #notfar It doesn’t give us the peace we read about Jesus’ followers having, or the ability to love others who might not be so loving in return. It doesn’t ensure that we will have the happy, abundant life we want. Then what does?

Truthfully, nothing in this world. Jesus said we would have trials in this life. But then He said, “Fear not, for I have overcome the world!” (John 16:33) It is only through living your life so closely wrapped up in Him that you will have peace and hope and a future. HE alone is how we can have the life we dream of, the life He destined for us before the foundation of the earth. We have to follow HIM!

How do you live that sort of life, one where following Jesus is just like breathing? That is what we will discover together in this Bible study - First Steps of Faith: Learning to walk with Jesus. #jesusfollower

Ready for some hard truths?

You see, here is the truth that older Christians hesitate to tell new believers. Hard days are coming. Days when you feel more like the Israelites wandering in the desert wondering why God saved them for this. Days when you cry out, as David did, “Why, oh God, have you forsaken me?” Days when you feel anything but like Mary, pouring perfume on Jesus’ feet in a moment of deep worship. There will be times that God feels silent. Times when you feel like your prayers don’t go above the ceiling. Times when you cry out in the middle of tragedy, “Why, oh Lord, did you save us for this?”

We live in a #brokenworld with #brokenpeople. I know, I know. You’ve heard that before. And I don’t say that as an excuse, but as a statement of reality. If the world hadn’t been broken, we would still walk in the cool of each day through the garden with our Lord. The relationship with your spouse would be one where you were constantly “naked and unashamed” and your children would be perfectly obedient and respectful. Sounds amazing, doesn't it? Like a fairytale? That’s because fairytales aren’t reality and we can’t learn to live in the world we have if we spend all our time wishing it wasn’t this way. #notafairytale

Why did we create this Bible Study?

We are a mother and daughter who are devoted followers of Jesus and want to walk with you as you take your first steps of faith. As a mom, Candy taught Carolyn how to take her first steps, both to learn to walk, and as a follower of Jesus. In this course, we are honored to be those older sisters helping you with your first steps.

We're going to focus on four foundational aspects of following Jesus - prayer, reading the scriptures, finding a church home, and finding companions to walk alongside you. In each lesson, we will dig into that aspect of faith in a video lesson, learning what it is and how to implement it into your daily practice. You can find downloadable resources to help you implement each aspect of this journey at https://therubytent.com/resources.

Want the full course experience? #yesplease

Sign up for the course for FREE at HERE and you will receive a weekly email with each lesson. Then, throughout the week, you will receive emails pointing you to the resources that you will need to help you implement your learning. You can also join our online community where you can chat with other fellow sisters in Christ who are walking the same path as you.
